Google just unveiled Android XR, a brand-new operating system. "XR" is an acronym for "extended reality," which is the general word for headgear that combine virtual, augmented, and mixed reality.

The visionOS that powers Apple's Vision Pro headset is a direct rival of Android XR. Numerous Google products, including Maps, YouTube, Chrome, and Photos, will be available on the platform. It also intends to support additional apps from the Play Store.

Google Chrome offers improved multitasking and the ability to customise how you open and arrange tabs in your browser.

A key component of Android XR will be Google's Gemini AI, which will simplify the user experience. It will help you with all of your tasks and record both audio and video.

Although Android XR is still in its infancy, the company anticipates shipping devices with Android XR support at some point in the upcoming year. Actually, a headset code-named Moohan is being developed by Google and Samsung and is anticipated to be released in 2025.
